Easter Egg Coffee Kozie

I thought this was a fun idea for the Easter egg applique pattern.  Have I mentioned that I am on a Kozie kick lately?

What you will need:
G hook
Worsted weight yarn
Scissors
Yarn needle


Abbreviations:
ch-chain
hdc-half double crochet
dc-double crochet
tr-treble crochet
st/st's-stitch/stitches


Make 4 eggs
Magic circle
Round 1: ch 1, 10 hdc into circle, join with first hdc
Round 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around, join with first hdc
Round 3: ch 1, *2 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in next st* Repeat 5 more times.  2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, 2 tr in next st, 1 tr in next st, 2 dc in next st 1 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st.  Join with first hdc.
Fasten off, secure circle, and weave in ends.

To Join:
Use can use either your yarn needle or your hook to join.
Cut a length of yarn measuring about an arms length.
Take 2 eggs and lay them one on top of the other with right sides facing.  Line the stitches up as best as you can. 
Attach the yarn to one of the stitches approx 6 stitches from the very bottom of the egg.  Join eggs using either a whip stitch or sl-st through approx 5-6 st's of both eggs.
Repeat with each egg, being sure you are joining with right sides facing.
Once you are finished joining, flip the kozie right side out and viola!
